Staying motivated not only will help you fuel your own fire but will do so to those who work with you. Staying motivated can be a challenge – As an entrepreneur you can easily get consumed with the responsibilities and to-do lists, but you need to find the time and be dedicated to keep up your motivation.
Here are some tips to keep yourself motivated:
Take Advantage of the Morning
“Each morning, we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” – Buddha.
Studies have shown that the first few hours after waking up are the most productive for our brains. So, put your phone down and stop scrolling through social media and take advantage of your re-energized brain power. Meditation, exercise, healthy breakfast and tackling your tasks early will help you keep motivated knowing you’ve had a productive morning.
Get a Good Night Sleep
In order to take advantage of that morning boost, a good night’s sleep is necessary. Researches agree that eight hours of sleep is ideal. Not getting enough sleep can affect your mood, your focus and your overall health. It’s difficult to stay motivated on growing your business and reaching your goals as an entrepreneur when you’re feeling tired.
Establish a Routine
"Quality is not an act, but a habit." – Aristotle.
After a good night sleep and a productive morning, you are creating a pattern and is called – routine! A solid routine will make all the difference when it comes to your success as an entrepreneur. A routine that includes a healthy diet, exercise, a strategy on starting and ending your workday, carving out time for relaxation and reflection -- is crucial.
Map your Goals
Goals without a plan are just ideas. You need to map out your business plan to make that goal a reality. Mapping out goals and writing them down, along with the steps of what and when you want to accomplish tasks, elevates your chances for success. Whether is on a notebook, on your phone or a giant whiteboard in your office, you can look at those written goals when you feel you need a motivational kick.
Seeking out inspiration puts us in a positive mindset. Either by seeking motivation outside your circle, watching that film that you found inspiring again, watching a TED talk, listening to an inspirational podcast during your commute, listening to uplifting music on your daily walk or while you’re enjoying your personal time alone. Indulging in activities that you find motivational will help you stay focus and positive while working on your goals.
Network with Like Minded People
There will be haters and those with doubts about what you want to accomplish. No one ever accomplished much by staying in their comfort zone, lacking innovation and failing to pursue their goals – as crazy as they may sound. That’s why it is important to surround yourself with like-minded people who also have a desire for drive and success. You can join an entrepreneur book club, find local meetups for people in your business realm, or seek entrepreneurs in your field online. To transform a vision to a reality you will need cheerleaders who will root for you and celebrate your wins – Go find them!
