Facebook advertising is not only cost effective, but it also has hundreds of targeting and add demographic options. Here are six ways you can effectively target new clients with Facebook ads:


Location



This option, also known as geo-targeting, can group clients by city, zip code, state, and country. Location specific ads can correlate with clients’ identity and provide a sense of personalization that will help increase engagement.





Demographics


Data relating to population, such as age, gender, income, marital status, and education level. There is an infinite of demographic options in Facebook, but those are the most popular ones. This method will help filter out and only target the specific clients you desire.



Interests

Interests are helpful in sorting out only the clients you want to target. You can input however many interests, hobbies and brands you want. A good tip for this option is for businesses to be as specific as possible – The more detailed interests you input, the more narrowed and effective target audience you will have.




Behaviors

Behaviors use the Facebook Pixel to target users. These behaviors are constructed from both, someone’s activity on Facebook and through offline activity (IE Google search). Pixel is a code that tracks user behavior to display ads to people that behave in certain ways. This is one of the most profitable ways to target your clients; for example, you can display ads to people who recently visited your website or subscribed to your blog. 



Engagement


When someone comments, likes or follows you or your pages on social media. If users have recently liked one of your Facebook or Instagram posts, you can have Facebook show them your ads.






Lookalike Audience


This is a very useful way of targeting users. This option allows you to filter those people that fit the profile of a prospective client, by grouping them based on what traits they have most in common; And use that as an audience to target.
